Jnbytheseas's thread about keeping up with the "Green" Joneses made me wonder... what Joneses are you keeping up with, or do you feel pressured to keep up with?

For me, it could be the Joneses that have a spotless, organized house...
or the Joneses that have their kids in a million activities and are volunteering at school and church all the time (I tried this but ended up miserable)... anyone else?

Honestly, I can't think of anyone I'm keeping up with. Unless there are a pack of joneses out there that are the "saving" joneses. We don't have much in savings, if anything, but with no more than $885 in debt (last year this time was over $22000), 2008 is the year we will save save save. Of course, i don't talk finances with anyone, so I'm not sure if we have friends like that or not!
Or maybe I'm trying to keep up with the "just gotta lose ten more pounds" pack. That's possible!! lol.
But as far as the usual "live outside your means" joneses, no thanks, we are quite the opposite.

I don't really think we are keeping up with any Jones's. We have our very own demons that we battle.

I haven't kept up with any Joneses.......I'm jealous of the gorgeous homed Joneses though. Those that have beautiful land scape, huge master bathrooms, gorgeous tile and high vaulted ceiling, state of the art kitchens and etc.......... We have a very humble home and when i see some of the other kids homes that old green monster comes out of me. I start getting greedy and thinking HOW COULD WE AFFORD THAT??? Then i realize that we are blessed with what we have and that i don't want to work outside the home.

Oh the traveling Joneses too. I wish i could travel to far off places too.

Especially those with flat, non-stretch marked stomachs!

Well I wish we were the traveling, large beautiful homed, great paying job, skinny, wallet full of money Joneses. However my dream is to be them when I grow up.

I'm trying to keep up with my MOMS club members. They're been nice to me but I always feel like I'm a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. I was all set to be an alternative mom but then found out how lonely being a mom really is. I joined MOMS to try and end that. Now whenever I go to someone's house I think about my messy apartment at home. Then that makes me think about how I bet they get a break every now again where the hubby takes care of the kids so they can get a shower in or some dishes done. I'm not sure if this is the case but if I could have one break like that each day that would be nice. I stay up til midnight doing my homework for college and her one nap is spent on chores or taking a nap myself. Finances don't bug me much, I just want to be happier with what I have.
