The financial steps may seem a bit like drudgery, so this will help you realize why you're striving to save more money. You've got dreams. There is a reason why you need to budget, save, and not get caught in the trap of immediate gratification. If you've got at least some of your dreams written down, you're ready for this step.

Step #20: Create a Vision Board

You can do this with a bulletin board or with a big piece of tagboard (check your dollar store). Your assignment is to take magazines, photographs, computer printouts, and other images that represent visions of what you would like to accomplish in your life and attach them to your board. If you want to go to Italy, cut out an image of Tuscany (or Milan, Venice, etc). If you want to develop better relationships with your siblings, include pictures of you together in happy times. If you'd like to read more, include pictures of the books you'd like to read, and so on.

Keep your board in a place that you see every day. When you look at the images, allow yourself to really FEEL yourself accomplishing them. Let your emotion fuel the fire and truly MOTIVATE you.

In this thread, please include pictures of the vision boards you've put together. I'll be posting mine early next week. I can't wait to see them!

bumping up! Who else is working on this??

Do you have other ways of reminding yourself of the things you're dreaming about? Other ideas include: using your screensaver, tearing out pictures of things you're saving for and putting them in your wallet as a reminder not to spend so much, etc.

Here's mine. It's a bulletin board that is right by my computer so I see it ALL THE TIME. It has photos, images of things I'd like to accomplish/places I'd like to go, printouts of quotes, or images/things that just make me feel good.

That's what is ALWAYS on there! No staging involved at all.

I have a couple vision boards, three if you count the one on my computer. I'm working on changing them up and making them a little nicer looking. I love having that inspiration right where I can see it.

I'm having trouble with this step and I really want to do it.

I don't subscribe to magazines and I don't want to go out and buy some just to cut them up (I read them at the library).

Any other ideas how to do this? (I don't have an artistic bone in my body so I can't draw out ideas either).

Would just words do?
