Have you called each place you owe and get on a monthly payment plan? Even $10 a month is something that you agree on and they see that you are wanting to pay it off and are trying to do so (even if it is $5 or $10 at a time). ie: If they say "the minimum I can take is $25/month" tell them you can't afford that right now but you can continually do $10/month without missing payments and that if you have any extra, you'll add it on when you can. Steady small payments are better than slightly larger but very sporadic ones. (from my experience) Also, if you can't make a pmt call them RIGHT AWAY and explain and see if you can mail it in as soon as you get the money to do so. They are much more understanding and willing to work with you if you are upfront and involved in paying it off. Good luck! I know it can be frustrating enough to rip your hair out.. been there!
