Now that we've talked about why we hang onto things, what kind of space we want to create in our homes, and making room for our dreams and goals comes the fun part... actually diving in and getting it done! I know some of you have started already. Way to go! If not, here is a simple suggestion:

The key to a lot of large projects is starting small and just plodding along. Instead of thinking of the huge scope of the entire project, what can you do in 15 minutes today? As with most things, success isn't one huge thing that you do in a short period of time, it's an accumulation of small everyday activities. If there are things you want to do in life, whether it's decluttering or working on a goal -- try just focusing a few minutes each day on it and see where that road leads you.

Assignment: Commit to declutter 15 minutes each day.

I can do 15 min no prob though I am wondering if it can compete with how much clutter my 2 year old can make in 15 min. Still 15 shouldn't be a problem.

With today being trash day, I did find that I did some decluttering yesterday so I would know it would all be hauled off tomorrow.

what's sad about this process, for me, is that I didn't think we were clutter bugs. My mom was that way and I soooooo did not want to be the same. But it turns out that every where we turn there are areas in the house that need to be "condensed" (as my dh calls it). So we condensed quite a bit yesterday. I do feel better knowing our house feels and looks cleaner and less cluttered. I just didn't realize how much stuff can accumulate.
