We are definetly living paycheck to paycheck. When I was working full time, we paid all our bills on time and I saved money in an emergency fund (my dh can't save a penny). Unfortunately we ran up quite a bit of debt. One reason is because my husband never had a credit card before and went insane when he got one. We actuallly have one maxed out, which is so embarrassing. We also have vehicle payments. Our problem is that my husband made twice the amount that I made, so he always thought things would be ok. I never thought I would lose my job, I was there for almost 7 years. We do pay our bills now, but often late. It is very stressfull and saddening to me. My husband works hard, makes good money, but doesn't really "budget" it. He gets paid by the job, so I don't get the same amount every week. It's terrible.

We only have 1 card left with about $1200 owed on it. It is for car repairs only. When he lost his job, I knew we would be fine for about 2 months, the end of that first month is drawing near. At the end of September, I don't know what we will do if one or both of us do not have a job.
I just wondered, are you back to work yet? What kind of work did you do? I lost my job in December....

We pretty much break even each month. On one income, our mortgage is 50% of our income but I have been able to cut back on a lot of things since I became a SAHM.

I guess we are either considered paycheck to paycheck or breaking even. We have been able to pay all of our bills on time but not save much or pay down CC's. After bills are paid, groceries and gas bought, then we are broke waiting on the next payday. We do have the $1,000 EF saved, so now working on trying to chip away at all the debt.

We have been living paycheck to paycheck for years, we always seem to manage and keep our bills strait, but we usually don't get too many extras. I had to make a decision years ago, work for the extra money, (which I did, but my entire paycheck went to daycare literally) or stay at home with the girls, so we didn't have to pay daycare, sometimes I get holiday jobs, if I can find someone willing to work around my husbands hours, which is almost impossible.
