I'm excited to start. I did this in January for the first time and it was great.

I'm going through a divorce and have two small children so we are trying to figure out child support, alimony, and separation of our assests. Luckily we have a decent savings account, and own two homes and have no debt other than the mortgage. I need to figure out my new budget, right now my husband is direct depositing his paycheck into our joint account and I'm paying the mortgage, daycare, utilities and the rest of the bills. I'm living in the main house, the other one we rent and he's at a friends for free. Right now we are trying to decide who gets this house, it's probably worth less than we paid one year ago so selling it isn't an option.

I'm looking forward to starting ftj's this summer, but a little nervous, I haven't really wanted to look at the money situation latley. I also haven't been saving anything right now other than my roth ira, the savings account is just staying there which is so strange for me because I'm used to putting in
$1k/month which was wonderful! Now I'm going to try to put 10% of just my income into my own private account which will only be about $250, but it's a start!

I'd love any advice from anyone else who may have been through a divorce.

Glad you're joining us! I moved your post out here to give it a little more exposure. I'm sorry you're going through a divorce. I know that others here have dealt with the same issues so hopefully you'll get some good "Been there, done that" advice.
