I set the coffee pot to turn itself on in the morning. Saving my Starbucks $ and the gas I would use to get there and back.

Planning our meals so we aren't staring at each other then caving to go out to eat.

What are you doing to make it easier on yourself?

Planning ahead.

1. Yesterday, we made sandwiches and packed snacks for our five-hour drive home so we wouldn't be tempted to get them at fast food or convenience stores.

2. We're planning on having friends over to our house this weekend instead of going out to eat.

3. We're going to plan some free activities with the kids - library, playing with neighbors, etc.

4. Simply staying out of the stores helps.

Using are already paid for the season passes For us that is the zoo and the pool! We bike to the pool and the zoo is maybe a 15 minute drive!

Planning ahead and packing lunchs and snacks so no concession stand temptations!

Using the free portions of VOD if we need a movie fix in the evening.

Getting ready to go to the park on our bikes with snacks and drinks in tow I swear thats the biggest summer money waster

Meal planning for sure! As soon as I saw the spending freeze was coming, I sat down and planned this week's meals, based on my pantry/stockpile. Then I went to the store and just bought perishable ingredients.

Working more than usual. This is our busiest week of the year. I am trying to focus on making some extra money this week instead of spending it!

We have annual memberships to the museum and the zoo. I wanted to plan something we could all do together for Father's Day and my husband gets to pick which place we go to. We will pack a lunch to take with us -- that's where we always end up spending about $25.00. And we'll stay out of the gift stores.

I have free events at the library already in my planner so I remember to get the kids out of the house and the rest of the time will be working on my summer project of downsizing our stuff!

I would say planning out my meals and finding new recipes that use what I have in my pantry and stockpile.

And for summer I'm taking someone else's idea about having set lunches for each day of the week.

Also making DH's lunch for him so he won't buy it.
