I made up and froze meatballs for 2 hours today...figured I'd share the recipe while I was at it-just in case...

MEATBALLS
1 1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/2 pd hot ground sausage
1/2 onion finely chopped
1/4 green pepper FINELY diced
2 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 Tbs dried parsley
3 TBS grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 egg, beaten

oviously we use these for spaghetti but we also do "meatballs and mushroom gravy"...like a roast...brown the meatballs later and simmer in cream od mushroom mixed with dry onion soup mix and about 1/2 can water(Or milk)...comfort food!!!

So you freeze these raw? I can't wait to try these because everytime I make meatballs my family says "BLAH"!

Sounds yummy! I was wondering too about freezing raw. I guess you just must have bought the meat and made them in the same day. I always have ground beef in the freezer and thaw it and cook it up and freeze it if I don't need it all. I am also constantly mixing beef w/ground turkey b/c it's only .79/lb at Aldi's! Nobody has complained of the taste or anything yet and I haven't said anything either!

Which ground turkey do you buy at Aldis? The frozen tube?

We have a little butcher shop that has ground round on sale fairly often...I get the meat from there...I do make it up within 2 days of buying...I do also freeze them raw.

I freeze meatballs...salisbury steaks...and meatloaves.

Just put them on a cookie sheet to get fairly froze then I vacuum seal.

I also seal my chicken breast in marinade...this helps to really infuse the flavors.
