I am sorry, but I have extra food that always seems to go bad so quickly.

I would like to find out if these products freeze well and if so, is there any special method I need to do to freeze them??

Green Onions/Scallions
Apples
Potatoes (red or white potatoes, whole)
Block cheese (cheddar, swiss..etc)
Shredded Chesse (motz etc..)
Kailbasi

It just seems that they always so bad on me, and I hate wasting that money..

Please help!

I will help you out as much as I can. I do freeze some of the items below so I will interested in seeing if any of the other ones do freeze well.

Green Onions/Scallions I chopped up and freeze white/yellow onions all the time, but I do not know about green onions or scallions
Apples Not sure on this one. I would like to know if they do. And than are they good for eating raw or do you have to cook with them after that??
Potatoes (red or white potatoes, whole) I think that you can, but they have to be half cooked. Not sure
Block cheese (cheddar, swiss..etc) I freeze block cheese (all kinds) a lot. Cheddar does end up being crumbly if you try to cut it.
Shredded Chesse (motz etc..) I also freeze this all the time, I have never had a problem with it ones it defrosts
Kailbasi You bet! I also freeze hot dogs and lunchmeat all the time.

Well, shoot! I guess I wasnt much help after all.

Green Onions/Scallions ---I freeze chopped onions or chives, so I guess so. But use them in recipes - you can't just eat them raw.

Apples - I peel & chop apples & freeze them all the time. I freeze them in the amount needed for a pie & they work just fine. You can also then make applesauce or use them in a cake or quickbread - like applecake. They will be for cooking.

Potatoes (red or white potatoes, whole) - I've no idea.

Block cheese (cheddar, swiss..etc) - We freeze HARD cheeses - like parmesan - and then we grate it as we need it. That's fine. Softer cheeses, not so good. Cheddar comes out crumbly & only suitable for recipes that need melted cheese.

Shredded Chesse (motz etc..) - If it's pre-shredded, then we bought it for convenience, so we've no need to freeze it.

Kailbasi ---I think this is keilbasa? Yes -this should freeze well.

.
Since I buy food for the entire month in one shopping trip, and if this is on sale I buy a couple different types, but sometimes it goes bad before the end of the month. So that is why I was asking.

I know I should be buying chunks and shedding it myself, but I have problems with finding chunks in 2% milk or less. Thanks again!

Found this online, it was pretty handy. Plus you can print it out for later reference.

I know that my dad freezes his homemade bbq sauce all the time. I have never tried it, but I cheat and we have the bottled stuff all the time.

Green Onions/Scallions-I do yellow, white and red onions and dice them up and put them in gallon zip lock bags and freeze them.I think the green ones would be fine but they would need to be used for something that is being cooked.
Apples-I make a apple pie filling.Plain don't know?
Potatoes (red or white potatoes, whole)-I have heard of alot of people doing this but I never have.
Block cheese (cheddar, swiss..etc)-yes but it needs to be used in dishes to be melted or cooked.it is no good for fresh things like salads and things like that.
Shredded Chesse (motz etc..)-yes same as above.
Kailbasi-?Not sure what this is?

This was a very helpful thread. I had been wondering about several of those things myself. I know you CANNOT freeze eggs.
