My kids go through frozen waffles like crazy, and of course they can't eat the same flavor! So even though we bought generic it still added up. Well yesterday I made a double batch of homemade waffles (which I can vary the flavor myself) and froze them. I got a big thumbs up today from the kids and DH.
Of course!!! <smacking forehead> why didn't I think of this sooner?????

Lol. Dh does this with pancakes - makes a triple batch and freezes whatever we don't eat that day.

Freezer French Toast is super easy and yummy, too. I make up a batch from a whole loaf of bread, and just cook them in the oven on cookie sheets. Freeze them on the cookie sheets and then put them all in a large ziploc bag. My kids take them out and pop them in the toaster themselves . . . I love that!

Until joining this forum, I had never even considered freezing pancakes, frenchtoast, or waffles! I tried it and it worked great! Just pop them in the toaster for a bit and they come out as if you just made them. And to think of all the batter I've thrown away and all the time wasted in the morning having to prepare all new ones.

Freezing pancakes, waffles, & french toast works great for me as I'm at work most days at breakfast time. The kids love it because its quick and easy, i love it because I know they aren't going to school without eating. I also make double batches of muffins and freeze the extras. they pop them in the microwave and have warm muffins!

I have been making and freezing pancakes for months. I would do it with waffles but I do not have a waffle maker yet (hoping to get one this weekend-$7 plus my employee discount!). But I have never thought of doing french toast!!!! That is genius!!! Now I know what else I will be doing this weekend along with a mass batch of waffles.
