Hi all
I know that many people cook once a month or in large batches and freeze family size meals. I've done that in the past with pasta dishes, soups, cassaroles etc. Does anyone freeze indvidual meals? ones with the meat, startch, and veggie, similar to the frozen dinners that my ds loves so much, but I refuse to buy anymore. They are so expensive and loaded with salt and other things. I would like to know how these style of frozen home cooked meals hold up and what is the best way to package them. thanks

BUMP

I'd like to know this one too. I think I'm going to start having to cook for my parents. My mom has macular degeneration and can't see too well. I've also been doing this on occasion for my FIL.

There is this website I found through the "FLYLADY" and it is called "Saving Dinner". You can purchase a subscription to what's called a "Menu-Mailer". What it does is send you copies of several meals with a grocery list to prepare them freezing. There is a cost involved I believe the cheapest one is $9.95 for three months. I still am looking into this because I have wanted to do this for quite a while and have not had the time to sit down and actually make out a plan. I guess these people have already done it for you. I will include the link so you can check it out:

Has anyone actually used this program? If so please let us know how it worked for you. With our busy lifestyles any time you can have a dinner or meal waiting for you is a good thing!: D
