samples - write to a company for a free sample before you buy something for the first time and decide after you didn't like it - you may waste your hard earned $ otherwise.

sanitize - you can make your own formulas for cleaning cheaper than buying them - look at all the suggestions here on MS.

sauces - homemade is still cheaper than store bought (most of the time). Freeze left overs in baggies by laying flat in freezer - mark outside with contents and date. Use hot water in a bowl or the microwave to defrost.
