Urge- beat the urge to spend. Come up with free activities.

Value- look for the best value in everything you buy. Cheapest is not always the best value.

Understand

You don't have to keep up with your neighbors. They probably are in debt you just don't know it.

Buying now and paying later can catch up with you. If you don't have the money now for something what makes you think you will later?

Vegetables

Buy bagged if you don't grow your own. They are picked at the peak of freshness and freezing keep the nutrients in.

Vacation

Going off season will save you a bundle.

If you know someone who lives in a tourist town see if you can bunk with them or switch homes for a few days. That way you both will get a vacation and it will cost lots less.

"Shop" around for lodging. One condo right beside another can sometimes be cheaper.

Unplug

When you aren't using something unplug it. 40% of your bill comes from things that are plugged in when you aren't even using them.

Use it up

Mushy banannas are a great smoothy or bananna bread

Mushy apples are good for apple sauce or pies

The last of a jam jar can be a great base to a salad dressing

Add a little water to your soap bottle and get one more load

a little of this and a little of that in the fridge can be a great soup starter or a great buffet night (my kids love buffet night)

UPS way to drive

-UPS company has a policy where their employees only make right hand turns so they don't waste gas sitting in traffic trying to make a left hand turn.
