I've only been in it REALLY bad a few times..and I have a great time people watching, especially if my kids are with me! They think it is hysterical to look at the other people and try to figure out who they are, what they are, etc.
When traffic is really congested, I usually.. pick my nose. lol. just kidding. Have you ever seen people do that though? EWW! I usually shke my leg and tap my fingers like I am about to have a nervous breakdown because I can't go anywhere. Then I turn on the radio and sing with the kids.
