Someone I know is dying, and I can't be there, so I _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

OMG, panic and cry. We went thru this a couple of years ago with my DH's grandfather, whom he was extraordinarily close to. It was one of the saddest things I have been thru. You feel helpless and like you can't do anything about it. We were told not to come, but we made arrangements to go and then had to cancel them because of a work disaster for DH that he had to deal with. It was an awful feeling and wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Sorry this is so long, but it stired alot of feelings

This is TODAYS (August 18th's) thread for this week!

I got a call like that for my mom, they gave her 5-7 days and she was in the UK, so i basically got on the next plane and got there. It would depend who it was, a close family member then i would drop everything to be with them. if not close then pray for them and talk to them on the phone.

I would pray....for her to have a peaceful passing if it was known there was nothing else they could do..and also just sit and remember the person and the times we had..and of course, cry.

Shaking in my boots (well, if I was wearing them in the middle of summer!), but glad to be back!

cry....cry....and pray....then another cry.

I hate it when I can't be there for happy, sad, and stressful times. That may sound silly to most, but when you are so far away from family and friends it's so hard to adjust to not being apart of all the things people celebrate and come together on.

It seriously breaks me heart.
