Bohemian Rhapsod~ Queen

I was tired of my lady
We'd been together too long
Like a worn-out recording
Of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleeping
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read

Escape = Rupert Holmes (and yes I LOVE Pina Coladas:D )

Ok here is an easy albeit appropriate one:
Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Alan Jackson~ Where were you (When the World Stopped Turning).....the first song I heard on the radio this AM and I started crying.....

I'm going to stick with the theme for today:

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.

And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

God Bless the USA - Lee Greenwood

And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I’ve counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh and I don’t want to die for you, but if dyin’s asked of me
I’ll bear that cross with honor, cause freedom don’t come free.

An American Solider ~Toby Keith my favorite part of that song is: I'm out here on the front line, So Sleep in peace tonight ( I always think of my brother and our US Marines)

Another (country) one....

I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have You Forgotten? ~ Darryl Worley

Ok, let me see - here is one to stay on our theme:
Far
We've been travelling far
Without a home
But not without a star

Free
Only want to be free
We huddle close
Hang on to a dream

Neil Diamond - America

You might not be looking for the promised land,
but you might find it anyway
Under one of those old familiar names
Like New Orleans (New Orleans),
Detroit City (Detroit City), Dallas (Dallas)
Pittsburg P.A. (Pittsburg P.A.),
New York City (New York City)
Kansas City (Kansas City),
Atlanta (Atlanta), Chicago and L.A.

LIVING IN AMERICA****JAMES BROWN

I wish that I could fly
Into the sky
So very high
Just like a dragonfly

I'd fly above the trees
Over the seas in all degrees
To anywhere I please.......

Fly Away~ Lenny Kravitz

This one was done by a few artists:

Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
W.C. Handy , won't you look down over me
Yeah I got a first class ticket
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Walking in Memphis (I LOVE that song!) - let's see....Marc Cohn, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Lonestar

There is something amiss
I am being insincere
In fact I don't mean any of this
Still my confession draws you near
To confuse the issue I refer
To familiar heroes from long ago
No matter how much Peter loved her
What made the Pan refuse to grow
