I have been slowly switching over to the green lifestyle- didn't know what ya'll have been using for hand soap. I really love my B&BW hand soap but know it is not good for you.

Also, any good skin care and/or makeup lines out there that are not bad for you?

Sorry to burst your bubble - I felt the same way until I googled SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulfates, parabens, phtalates. If you don't want to switch, don't google the ingredients or you'll go completely the other way like me. I go out of my way, way, way out of my way to avoid those ingredients.

I've had a really hard time finding liquid hand soap that doesn't cost a fortune. My boys have a bar soap now and in my liquid soap dispensers, I use the Seventh Generation lavender dish soap. It is very gentle on my hands and worlds better than what we were using. I tried liquid castile soap in the dispensers and it is so runny that it squirted us in the eyes when we pumped the dispenser!!

i make my own soap. i don't use liquid hand soap, i just use the bars of soap that i make myself. its incredibly easy to make. and i love the soap. it keeps me nice and soft and you can scent it however much you like or not scent it at all.

Ditto what Rosemary posted. We use bar soap (you really don't need anti-bacterial soaps as we've all come to believe...) In the kitchen I bought some softsoap from Trader Joe's. I refill it, sometimes with Castille soap.

In the shower I use TJ's oatmeal honey soap.

I've had to switch all the soaps in the whole house because my B&BW stuff was burning my hands. I have very sensitive skin and in the winter it dries out something fierce. So the only thing I put now in my hand soap containers (liquid dispenser) is either Burts Bees Baby shampoo and wash or California Baby shampoo and wash for extremely sensitive skin. I tend to like the Burt's bees better because #1 it has the heavenly scent, #2 it is less expensive #3 it lathers better. BUT the California Baby truly is unscented and I feel it's more gentle on my hands when they are sore.

I loved my B&BW stuff but you right, it is Not good for you.

Castille soap is great, not just for hands but you can pretty much clean anything with it. I get th Trader Joe's brand and even use it in cloth baby wipes solution.
