I was interested in finding out how many of us plan to have live, artificial, or replantable Christmas trees during the holidays.

Last year, we went to a nearby National Forest and cut our tree down ourselves. It actually HELPS to thin the forest (I was told) so that forest fires don't burn as readily, and so that the larger trees have better growth opportunity. If I could find somewhere around here that sells replantable trees, I'd go that route though.

Not trying to twist anyone's arm in any direction here, just wondering what everyone else does.

We have an artificial tree. We bought it about 3 years ago. Up until then we used dfil's 24 year old tree - and it still looked great until about 4 years ago. The tree made it 32 years!

That's what we do too. It's part of our tradition.

So do we! We have to have our live tree!

We put up artifical trees too. Depending on my mood, we put several trees throughout the house for the holidays.

We have had our artificial tree for 9 years. At this point I keep using it to keep it out of the landfill for as long as possible. I always had real trees growing up but my husband has allergies. Boy, do I miss the real thing!

We have an artificial tree due to allergies, to save money, and I just could not cut down a tree just to use for a few weeks and then throw away (or even turn it into mulch). I guess I have some "green" in me.

I have not had a real tree in my life. My dad had bad asthma. Now I have 2 fake trees. I am hoping that we get our own house in a few years. I really want to try a real tree!!!
