How many of you use a price book when you shop??

If you aren't sure what that is, read this article here on mommysavers to learn more about it. http://mommysavers.com/frugal-food-r...e-book-101.htm

How do you set yours up? Does it really help when tracking grocery deals??

I've started using one and it has helped me. I am someone who would do horrible on the Price is Right games that involve grocery prices. I never had a good grip on how much certain things cost; so for me, a price book is good. Here are some of the ways it's helped:

1 - I have prices from the grocery and the warehouse club so I can look and see which is a better deal. I can also look when there's a sale at the grocery and know right away if the sale is any better than the normal club price.

2 - I can look at that week's flier and tell whether something is on sale or if the price in that week's flier is the normal price.

3 - Keeping track of the prices has helped me see a kind of cycle on when certain things are on sale.

Mine is just on a pad of notebook paper. I need to sit down and redo it and get it in some type of order.

I started putting things in excel...I haven't gotten it the way I want it but it does really help to show how much you are paying for things. Like the pp, I didn't really know what was a good deal or not so this helps.

I used to have one that I printed off of Excel, but I was getting frustrated with having to increase the prices all the time. In the area I live in we don't have a lot of choices on where to shop. I pretty much know the best prices and which stores to go to get them. If I lived in a bigger place, I would definitely use the price book more often.

I used to use a price book, but over the past year or so, it became so hard to keep up with it, as prices seemed to jump from week to week. I would like to start using one again though.

It is helpful to learn the prices of things you buy regularly. I found it especially helpful for pricing soda. I do not pay over $0.25/can anymore!
