Do you have advice for shopping at Kroger?

Where do they put clearance MEAT and when do they clearance it? How did you find out how when they clearance it?

What exactly is their policy on doubling coupons?

What are some usual products you get there for free with coupons because of doubling?

What are your top three favorite STORE brand items, that you frequently buy there?

I have to drive into Missouri to go to Dillons, so I don't go very often, not like when I lived in Kansas but the top 3 store brand items I stock up on when I go

crunchy taco shells, they are the best
canned tuna
plain potato chips, even the kids say they're better than name brand

Do you have advice for shopping at Kroger?Go early in the morning to get the best deals.

Where do they put clearance MEAT and when do they clearance it? How did you find out how when they clearance it?At my Kroger they have a special section in the meat department for the "managers specials"

What exactly is their policy on doubling coupons?Double coupons up to 50 cents; coupons .51 and over deducted at face value

What are some usual products you get there for free with coupons because of doubling?ii dont think i have gotten anything for free due to doubling but i did just get an envelope of coupons from kroger for a few diff things for free. eggs, downy fabric softner, a 12 pack of coke. they go by what i buy most and send me coupons.

What are your top three favorite STORE brand items, that you frequently buy there?kroger can veggies are good. we stock up when they are .55 a can. 2 more are probably frozen fries & their pasta.

meat- They have the managers specials area and they sometimes stick it by the meat case as well. I think they do it in the morning.

If they are having the 10 for 10 specials on products and you have a 50 cent coupon you get it for free.
I often get free small packs of Contentelle toilet paper and other random stuff

I would like advice on shopping there too. I did sign up for the Kroger shopper's card and look at the store circular. I was able to get a box of Honey Cheerios for $0.95 But anything to make shopping there faster, easier, and of course cheaper, I would appreciate!

The best advice is know someone who works there! My hubby gets 10% off everything kroger brand...diapers, food, cleaning supplies, gas, you name it. All you need is their little kroger card to get the discounts. Just borrow it and return it afterwards.

The value brands are actually pretty good! The value meat is usually located in the center of the meat. (well in ohio it is)

Their higher priced brand isn't that much better tasting than their value brand...so don't be fooled by the packaging. I wouldn't buy everything you need from them...I like to mix it with Aldis and the dollar tree to get the best deals. My last grocery bill (for one week and counting) was $30.00. Including milk, two large pasta dinners with garlic bread, pizza, snacks, drinks, juice, two meat dinners...and quite a bit more.

Just take advantage of their hidden deals...such as bogo items and value brands...everything else is usually a bit over prized.

They also have free diapers for those "emergency changes" *wink wink* but that was a employee know only. Just ask the service desk.

You can get great deals at Kroger if you have the right coupons and hit the right sales. Also my store has an area in the back where they have close out things. I got 2 packages of Gerber Graduates little crunchies for $0.19 each after the markdown and coupons.

Be sure to also ask for rain checks or call and see if they have restocked items as my store does tend to sell out of things quickly.

I'm not in the store enough at the same time to see a pattern about marked down meat but I have been lucky enough to get their all natural ground beef for $1.99/lb and yesterday I got a package of Lauras Lean ground beef (no antibiotics, growth hormones) for $2.79 (normally over $4).

Also they often have their organic brand milk for $2.69 a half gallon which is a really good price for where I live.

Another thing to do is make sure you sign up for P&G e-saver coupons and the shortcuts e-coupons. YOu can combine these with manufacturers and store coupons and save TRIPLE! I got a package of Pampers wipes for like $0.24 by doing this.

Make sure you give them your home address b/c lately I have been getting alot of coupons in the mail. Good stuff too like soft drinks, free eggs, free yogurt, cheese, etc.

Don't forget about saving money on your gas! If you spend $100 in groceries you get $.10 off per gallon at kroger fuel station per fill up. There isn't a limit...so $800 a month= $.10 off 8 full gas tanks! You don't have to fill up your gas tank to get the discount...but it also doesn't carry over...so to save more it helps to fill up each time. All you need to do is use your kroger plus card each time you shop and when you pump gas.
