I was wondering if anyone used cloth recycled bags when they shop? I have started taking my own and love it. I don't get overwhelmed with all those little plastic bags and it makes carrying groceries so much easier. Sometimes it is difficult to change the way that you have done things forever but when you select to make a change for the good (like carrying recycled cloth bags), you not only are saving money in the long run, but you are saving the enviornment.

I have found when purchasing my cloth bags though, get a good quality bag. Sometimes the really cheap ones are not so good. They fall apart quickly with the weight that gets put into them.

Happy Shopping!!!

I've been taking my own bags to the store for almost twenty years now. The 99-cent bags they sell at the stores aren't always strong enough for me, either.
I have a sizable collection of canvas tote bags that I've amassed over the years, and I use them for heavier stuff, and I have a few of the 99-cent bags that we got free for doing store surveys - I use them for lighter weight stuff.
I also have a few heavy-duty insulated bags that I use for cold stuff.

I have several big ones just for food shopping. I also bring the small ones when I go to regular store.

I have been using cloth bags for many years. I also tried the .99 cent type bags and don't care for them as much.

I have both and use both. I haven't noticed the cheap bags not being strong enough? I guess when I go grocery shopping I make sure I take the canvas. otherwise I leave the cheap ones in the van for everyday errands. I have some nice plastic ones (target) that they made from recycled target bags. I love those for when it's raining out. They are also very heavy duty.

I use them. I also have some insulated large bags with zippered tops. Love them! I've seen them at Whole Foods & Dominicks.

As much as I can! I keep them in the trunk of my car. The hard part is remembering to grab them anytime i go in a store.

That's why I keep all of them folded into a bigger bag that hangs from the passenger side headrest - otherwise I would forget to grab them.

I have a couple of these that I use to carry my meat in. That way if the blood leaks from the meat and gets in the bag I can just wipe them down.

I've been using cloth bags for the last year. I have about 15 heavy duty canvas bags that I love. I would buy them one or two at a time. I personally don't like the cheap ones but would love to have a few of the insultated ones.

My mom's been using her cloth bags for over 20 years now.

It takes a while to remember to take them in, but once you make it a habit you'll never go back.
