Here in Florida it is the beginning of Watermelon season. My family can eat a whole watermelon a day if I have it on hand.

I bought a huge seeded watermelon at Winn Dixie on Monday for $7.99.

How much are watermelons where you all are at?

The most I will pay for one is $5. That means I have to get mine at the Farmer's Market.

Watermelons don't grow here that great unfortunately. I would love to grow my own because we can go through one in a day. I know our Farmer's Market usually has them for $5 off season, they can be as cheap as $2 in season. I have gotten them for as little as $1 for a cantelope size seedless watermelon.

There are always folks selling them out of the backs of pickups on the side of the road here for between $3 and $5.

This is why I won't buy except from certain people at my Farmer's Market right now. We have local farmers that grow them so those are the ones I buy.
