When you go shopping and you run across an item that happens to be a really, really good deal but it is a item you would not necessarily buy. Would you buy it anyway because of the good deal?

If the reason I normally wouldn't buy it, was because it was too expensive, but finally at a good deal, I would buy it.

If the reason that I normally don't buy it, is because my family didn't like it or wouldn't use it, I still wouldn't buy it.

A good deal is only a good deal if you can use it (or you are buying it for somebody else). If you are buying it because it is cheap, and it will set on a shelf in the closet, that is wasting money and not a good deal.
