Can you share with us your BEST tip for saving the most at the grocery store??
We all know to shop with a list, don't go hungry, and try to match up your coupons, but what other tips are noteworthy??

Take time to keep your price book up to date. This one is hard for me but it definitely helps. Also Meal Plan, Meal Plan, and Meal Plan. This has saved me hundreds of dollars.

Check the ads first, make a list, and take your coupons.

My "best" tips have already been mentioned, so I'll just add one of my "good" ones.
We all know to check the meat case for marked down meats. Don't forget to check the fresh pasta and prepackaged deli meats/cheeses, too. If they're close to the sell-by date, they can be discounted. Brands might have coupons, too, which can usually be used on clearance items.

Shop in season and stock up!
Ex: in the summer, condiments are on sale and you get lots of coupons for them. Stock up for what you can use year-round.! I usually get things like ketchup and mustard for free! (Hunt's Ketchup, marked down to 99 cents, plus a doubled coupon for 55 cents off two, comes to BOGO!) So in the winter, I NEVER buy mustard, ketchup, barbq sauce, mayo, salad dressing, or stuff like that.
Same thing goes in the winter months. I stock up on all of my baking supplies! The holiday season brings lots of sales on those items, plus coupons. So that's when I buy my chocolate chips, brown mixes, etc.
It is also true for the meatcase. I have found that my grocery store will BOGO pot roasts in the winter, and then BOGO packages of steak in the summer.
**ALSO...meat tip...say a pot roast is BOGO, but the smallest one you can find is like 3 lbs and you don't need one that big, ask the butcher to cut it in half and package it seperately! That way, you wind up getting the BOGO deal on that roast! (I do it all the time to fit my budget!)

Thats how I've been stocking up too. Yesterday I got ketchup forBogo, or actually about .50 each. And Hot dogs have been rediculously cheap lately so I grab about 2 packages everytime I shop. Yesterday I had my FREE Hot dog coupon so I was able to use that one also.
Good tip on the meat, I never thought of that. I wonder if you can do that with chicken thats already packaged and wieghed?? I see that ALOT at BigY, and there meat is always on the pricy side. Its always BoGo, but its always HUGE packages that are way out of my budget.
