For groceries that is!

If you had to pick one store to shop at for groceries which one would you choose and why?

I would have to say Kroger (although they haven't had exceptional sales recently.) I say that because I can count on getting the brands I like and want. They double coupons up to $1 and I can add coupons from Cellfire, and other websites to my Kroger plus card. They have great customer service, the stores are neat & clean, I can get Rx filled while I shop and they have good sales on top of decent regular prices. Plus once I spend $100 I get 10 cents off each gallon of gas! It's also the closest store to my house.

How about you?

Thats a hard one. My first thought was Meijer. Because thats where I go to the most but there are things at Kroger I can't live with out.

I pick Meijer. They have the largest selection in my area. The everyday prices are lower than Kroger and Walmart on most things. In my area Meijer has the best customer service. The lines are the shortest. The self checkouts are easy to use. The Kroger self checkouts are convoluted. And hard to get help with them. The fruits and veggies have the best deals. Kroger and Walmart don't usually have good deals on fruit and veggies. I do have to say that Kroger's fruit and veggies at least are very nice looking. It also is close to my house, Walmart is the closest, by Meijer's is right next door. I also know where everything is.

I forgot to add that Meijer also has their own line of Organics, and a new line called Meijer Naturals that has no genetically engineered ingredients. I buy them when they go on sale.

It's a toss-up between Winn-Dixie and Albertson's. Winn-Dixie has their own line of naturals and organics, which are better priced than the name brands.
But they don't carry certain items that we love, such as quinoa and the big jars of Herdez salsa, which Albertson's does have.

I prefer to shop at Publix. Their quality of products is just the best (IMO) in this area. I do go to Wal-Mart and Sam's for the items I can buy in bulk or misc paper products or canned goods.

I pretty much buy all of my groceries at Publix. I do not think they are cheapest by far but the store is super convenient and leaps and bounds better than the other choices near me as far as quality and cleanliness, etc.

I must be the odd-ball here

Because I rather go to wal mart for groceries.

I can find everything I need
They price match
They take online coupons
I can buy everything from groceries to underwear
If I need my tires balance and rotated, I can buy groceries while they are servicing my tires.

My main grocery store is Ralphs. They are the only place around here who doubles coupons up to $1. I like that they make down expired or close to expired items at least 50%. I also love their store brand items and they have some great sales.

Next would be Costco...milk, eggs, butter, bread, pineapples, grapes.

For some stockpiling items I may go to Albertsons when they are on sale.

My only choice is HEB and Wal-Mart, I shop at both equally, some things are cheaper at one store and others are cheaper at the other store. HEB rarely has enough cashiers so it takes forever to check out, if I had to pick only one store it would be Wal-Mart.
