$2.34 a bag! With canning season coming I probably should have bought more. Maybe this weekend if we go back down there.

WOW! We don't eat enough sugar to justify that. How much were the 1lb bags, did you notice?

I did not know that sugar came in 1 lb bags!! I usually buy at least a couple of 10lb bags a month!!!

I bought 4 lb bags at HyVee this week for $1.23 each. I don't think I have ever paid more than $1.50 for the 4lbers.

our local store just had 4lb bags of sugar on sale for 99 cents and I picked up a few.

Hmmm, well if you live where I live it's a great deal. Sorry ladies, thought I had a great deal for you. I wonder why sugar is so much more expensive here?

I was going to say the same, but now that I think about it...I have seen 1# bags...I think maybe at Dollar Tree??

Anywho...the cheapest sugar around here is at Dollar General - $1.64/4# bag.

I didn't know they still have 5lb bags, thought they were all 4lb. I'm picky about sugar, has to be 'pure cane', it really messes up candy making and some other baked goods if it's not.

Our sugar was $2.99 for 5# on Sat

4# sugar was $1.96 Sat.
