CANNED PINK SALMON ON SALE FOR $1.99 A CAN
1 can salmon
2 eggs
1/3-1/2 C crushed ritz crackers
2 TSP parsley flakes
red pepper flakes(to taste)
salt & pepper(to taste)
Drain salmon,remove skin,bones,mash up with fork.
Add rest,mix together (should be stiff enough to form patties, but not too dry).
Form into patties,place in a hot skillet, sprayed w/pam.
Cook until golden brown on both sides.
or try Ruthies salmon patties...
SALMON PATTIES
16 oz pink salmon, canned
1 egg
1/3 c onion, minced
1/2 c flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 c vegetable oil, for frying
Drain salmon. Set aside 2 Tablespoons juice in mixing bowl. Mix together salmon, egg, and onions until sticky. Stir in flour. Add baking powder to juice, then stir into salmon mixture. Form into small patties. Fry until golden brown.
(pair w/a salad from the fresh express BOGO sale and you have a great healthy meal)

Take a day off from cooking and get out the crock pot!!!!
try...BEB9872 crock pot Lemon Garlic Chicken~
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup water
garlic powder
Spray inside of crock-pot with non-stick spray and layer chicken in crock-pot. In another bowl mix the lemon juice, water and garlic powder together. (I love garlic so I also sprinkled it onto the chicken). Pour liquid over chicken and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4. YUM!
or my crock pot Ranch Chicken
just layer bone/skinless chicken breast in your crock pot and sprinkle w/ a .7oz pkg of dry ranch mix and cook on low 4-5 hours...tastes great and your ENTIRE house will smell fantastic!
(Either one of these chicken recipes could be paired w/the rice/pasta roni thats on sale 10/$10......add some 3/.99 corn on the cob and it's a great frugal meal)

Corn on the cob is like popcorn...you can do alot more with it than butter and salt
Try cajun butter...
mix 1/2 c butter(margarine is fine)
and 3-5 Tbs cajun seasonings.
Smear on hot cooked corn and enjoy.
You can also sweat some minced garlic in butter and use that.
our kids also like to sprinkle it w/parmasean cheese.

aside from making great frozen treats for the kids........yogurt is also a great way to stretch fresh fruit.....it only take about 3 sliced up good sized strawberries to make a yogurt alot more filling.....healthy......and will help stretch the 2/$5 strawberries
