What is the price of a big watermelon in your area? I bought 1 for $4 today. I saw it for $7 at Kroger and was shocked....

They were on sale for 3.99 last week at Meijer. Kroger does usually have higher priced produce, with only a few sales each week. If I shop there, I only buy the fruits that are on sale.

The past two weeks I have seen them for $6.99 and $7.99. That was SuperTarget and Winn Dixie. I would never pay that. I bought one for $4 a few weeks ago and that is about all I would pay..... I am in South FL.

They are 49 cents a pound here, so that sounds about the same.

In our area HyVee has them in their sale flier at .49 a pound and $2.88 for mini ones. Sam's Club is $6.88 for a whole one and Walmart I think was at $4.50 for a whole watermelon.
