This doesnt have anyting to do with the sales this week, but have you ever used someone else's GE card and check?

I go shopping for my mom once or twice a week. I've always used my dad's card and my mom signs the check. I've never had a problem until today. The lady said that I needed to have a permission slip on file in order to use it since its not in my name. Does this make sense? I've been doing this since I was in high school and never had a problem. I don't mind filling it out but its just a pain.
