I know it is a bit early. We still have 6 weeks to go or about that.

I was wondering if anyone plans a nice meal for there DH or kids?I usually do.Kid friendly things for the kids and usually apatizers for Dh or steaks and we eat after the kids are done eating and can have candles and sit and talk alone.

I think we might make heart shaped cookies, frost them and add on some candies or sprinkles? That is as far as I got.

Do any of you ladies have plans yet or ideas?

We've been married 7yrs and every year I make hot wings. But oldest dd's b'day is the 10th and she wants hot wings so I may make them for her and dh and I go out on the V'day. Nothing romantic.

We will go out the night before Valentines (so we have a sitter) to our favorite seafood resturaunt. Hopefully I am getting some jewelry this year, but we will see. I am thinking of getting DH a Wii... he has been a very good guy this year

Dh and I always go out for Valentine's day to one of our favorite resturants...Dh typically gets me a nice gift + flowers. He's such a sweetie!

I usually get a few fun things for the kids, kinda like stocking stuffers...this year for them I have red flashlights, red mechanical pencils they like, red soaps for their bathrooms and I'll probably find something else in my travels before then.

Sometimes I make cookies or rice krispie treats (cut out with heart shaped cookie cutters). Just depends on what's going on. I don't make them a special dinner for Valentine's Day.

We always make fettucine alfredo with shrimp. DH cooked for our first date and that is what he fixed. We always make some cookies and decorate with the kids. We get a few toys/books for the kids to have. Other than that nothing much.

For dd I do heart themed things all...

pink heart pancakes or french toast.
grilled cheese hearts and tomato soup w/a sour cream piped heart(of heart cut reg sandwiches)

and usually I make dinner and I let them choos their favorite, then do some sort of heart shaped dessert.

Since Valentine's Day is a Saturday this year, I made reservations several weeks back.

Ugh, I'm still recovering from Christmas! Shrimp scampi, salad, asparagus and bread have become the tradition. I also make heart shaped brownies to use in a brownie sundea for dessert. No way would I try to go out that night.

One of the annual military balls falls on Valentine's Day week, so I buy a fancy dress and go out to dinner and dancing with my dh who looks HOT in his dress blues.

Wow! I hadnt even thought about it! Chances are we wont get to go out. That is a hard date to get a family member to come babysit figure they want to go out too and finding a babysitter for four boys, one being an infant is really hard. I will probably figure out some nice meal to make for all of us. But than dh will probably be gone that weekend anyways so it wont matter. I will make up some treats for the kids and pick them up some little toys or books too.
