I don't have a GF, I have the Cuisinart Griddler with the snap off plates. I think they are pretty much the same though?
I use ours about once a week, and clean it after every use. I just put the plates in the dishwasher.
I like to grill, burgers, shrimp, chicken and make panini's with the press option.
Mine also has additional plates so I can make pancakes or scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.

I bought these to clean mine

George Foreman GFSP3 - Grill Cleaning Sponges

I did not spend $12 on them though!

We usually just cook chicken on ours. I clean it while it is still hot.

I used to cook on it at least 4-5 days a week, and then one day it came up MISSING. My SO/DH took it to work and he uses it there, from meat to eggs to grilled cheese. (It's the small version)

We don't use ours very often. It does have the removable plates, so we can just throw them in the dishwasher. I would recommend that option.

We mostly cook bacon on it. It drains off the grease and keeps the splattering under control.

I use mine once or twice a week. I use it for salmon, burgers, chicken breasts, paninis, and occasionally grilled cheese. Bacon is REALLY delicious on there, too, but you do have to flip it after 2 minutes which is kind of a pain. I have the newer version with the detachable plates and I usually throw then into the dishwasher after scraping and rinsing them a little. One other tip - I spray the plates with non-stick spray made specifically for the grill just before preheating it. It helps keep the gunk from sticking. Pam makes this, and my local grocery store makes their own version; you can find it right by the regular non-stick sprays.
