What kitchen tool would you consider indispensible? And what all do you use it for?

I choose kitchen shears, I think they are so neat because I hadn't heard of them until I got married. I use them for cutting:

Bacon pound in half
romaine lettuce
half-frozen roast meat
the corner off a freezer bag so the thawed soup comes out without making a mess
bagels (after cutting my hand one too many times)
some craft flowers
shapes out of tortillas to make chips/trim tortillas to pan
anything into pieces (cooked chicken, etc)

My chef's knife - I call it my food processor.

My mortar and pestle.

My cast iron pots and pans.

Kitchen shears-cutting everything

potato masher-mashed potatoes, breaking up ground meat like hamburger while its browning, mash up whole tomatoes for spaghetti sauce

My pampered chef can opener. I have had it for over seven years. It is the only can opener that has even been able to keep up opening 30 plus cans of formula per month X's 4 kids (one is still on formula) plus all the other cans that I open monthly. All the other hand held and automatic can openers only would last a few months.
I have never had a pair of kitchen shears, might have to invest in a pair.
