Anyone have easy treat ideas that would work for a preschoolers Halloween Party? This will be DS's first school party and I want to bring something fun but simple and appropriate for preschoolers (and semi-healthy of course!)

At first I had this idea of melon balling an apple, putting a pretzel stick in it and then dipping it in chocolate. Then I thought I'll just skip the apple part all together and just do pretzels dipped in chocolate with some fun colored sprinkles... How does that sound? Not too healthy but not out right candy either.

I have a tendency to over think these types of things.

Kids Halloween Food: Marshmallow Ghosts
Prepare Rice Krispie Marshmallow treats according to the cereal box directions. Shape the warm mix into ghosts- use a ghost cookie cutter if necessary. Add some white icing and mini chocolate chip eyes and the kids will enjoy eating the fun Halloween ghost treats!

My son's preschool is having a pumpkin party this month.

All the snacks are going to be orange.
They are having:
mini cupcakes with orange icing
mandarin oranges
cheese it crackers
cheese cubes
candy corn

Pretzel rods dipped in choc and sprinkled w/halloween sprinkles are called witches wands or sorcerer sticks. so that could work and its easy...I make em for 4 th of July(sparklers)

I loved it when I was a child and my mom would do pumpkin cup cakes she used to decorate them with spiders on the top but it's hard work so what I now do is this pumpkin cookies recipe I found on a free desserts site with Halloween's shapes like bats and ghosts

Ingredients

2 1/2 cup gluten-free flour blend*
1 tsp xanthan gum
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips

Directions

Combine gluten-free flour mix, xanthan gum, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and
salt in a medium bowl.

In a mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, pumpkin, and
vanilla. Add in dry ingredients. Stir in raisins or chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoons onto an oil sprayed baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 to 18 minutes.

My girls are very picky so I do things simple. For my oldest dd's parties I always make plain chocolate chip cookies. I never had a child turn one down.

Mini dd is extremely picky and I wish they would've had a familiar snack like goldfish, animal crackers or something like that for her to eat. She didn't eat anything at the party. Everything was cute but looked strange to her.

It is hard because you want to be thoughtful and accommodate as many children as possible
