I'm not hosting, so I just need to take a side dish. I think I'm going to do a spinach au gratin.

I am starting to plan the Christmas menu. Actually I'm doing two menus...one for if I decide to do a full giant dinner and the other will be if I decide to do something more casual.

I am having "thanksgiving" next week with my brother. We haven't planned the menu yet, but I can guarantee we're making brussel sprouts and his delicious chocolate/pecan and pear tarts.

Is it weird to make scalloped potatoes instead of mashed? I want to do them in the crockpot - one less thing on the stove - and they sound so yummy. Does it go with turkey though? I picture it more of a "for ham" potatoe dish.

AFIC, scalloped potatoes go with anything.
