does anyone use this for anything?

I bought a can of them because I needed (2) for a mulled wine recipe we're making, but now have a TON left. I know it's used in Asian recipes ~

anyone got any ideas??

I heard that a key ingredient in Tamiflu is an extract of star anise
maybe we should all buy a jar and start hunting for uses

Ya know you can grind it down and use it as a rub for meats(sparingly as it is is VERY strong!!!)

I had an Aunt that use to make Anise cookies. They were yummy and she would only make them at Christmas.

I have a book that says it's used for all manner of coughs and bronchitis, and can be combined with other herbs used for the respiratory system. It's also good for nausea, gas and colic.
My DH had a sore throat the other day, so I made him Star Anise & lemon Balm tea. Just steep in boiled water for 10 minutes. It tastes licorice-y
