Or do you just use your "everyday" dishes for all occasions?

I was thinking about my grandma, Thanksgiving at her house and her pulling out her dishes every year "for a good washin'" before she set them on the table.

Does it seems the practice of having "good china" or "special occasion" dishes has fallen to days past?

I happen to be a dish FREAK and now have 5 sets of different dishes Some are full setttings (for 4), some are just plates (my larger "sets"). None are expensive by any means (most are picked up after holiday clearance), but I still most often only use my everyday dishes ~ even when I entertain

We even have wonderful crystal that's been gifted to us, but I never use it for fear of breaking it

Yes, I have several sets of fine bone china that I use for holidays, dinner parties, special occasions. When I use those dishes I use my sterling flatware.

We use nice crystal daily, but I also have another set of crystal that I use when I use my fine china.

No! I'd be happy to have just plain old everyday dishes that were a complete set. I've been looking for months now and can't seem to find any that I like.

Nope... when you come to my house to eat you eat on what we eat on. No room or time for fancy dishes here.

Yes, we have fine china (and crystal and silver). Never use any of it though!

I have a set of Christmas china that I use, but I wouldn't call them "fine".

I am a dish fanatic! We have the nice everyday set that we got when we got married. I will use those often, but I use my "fun" sets the most. We have a store here called Old Time Pottery (Welcome to Old Time Pottery! Your Home Décor Superstore!) where you can get cute, very durable sets for a crazy low price. I love it! It is one of my weaknesses.

I like fancy dishes but do not have a set of formal dishes.

When MIL gets hers out it makes me nervous. I'm so afraid I'm going to mess them up.. lol.

I have a set of fine bone china, only time box was opened was on receipt to see if it survived shipping. I have every day Heritage Stoneware from Pfaltzgraph that I bought 20 years ago with enough to serve 16. Found serving peices when I went to the factory outlet in Williamsburg VA back in 1991 and that is what we have used every day ever since. It is sturdy stuff!!

I have stonewear that I use every day, but I'm thinking of getting a set of Corelle since the kids are getting old enough to stop using the baby plates but not big enough for the stonewear. I didn't put China on my registry, but my Mom passed hers on to me so we use that for special occasions.

I have Corella for everyday eating and then I have my DH's Grandma's fine china set but very rarely use it and then I also have a set of stoneware, but don't use that all that much either.
