I was just getting my grocery list together and I realized I am SO sick of "winter" eats. Does anyone else change there dinners when the weather gets warmer? I think I will feed my family cereal every night!

We definitely have more main course salads in the summer, taco salad is a big favorite. We also snack on fruit and popsicles more than popcorn, muffins, etc like we do when its colder outside.

We do. I make a lot more chili, soups and casseroles in the winter. In summer, we tend to eat a lot more fruits and veggies, as well as steaks and chicken on the grill and salads. Summer definitely tends to be lighter foods.

In the winter we have more oven type stuff and in the summer we have more bbq type stuff so we don't have to turn on the oven.

Most definately. We eat much lighter foods in the summer and we tend to eat less quantity in the summer. Probably because we are out and about and are too busy.

We eat a lot more fresh fruits and veggies during the summer because they are soooo good from the farmer's market. You can always tell that produce was picked too early during the winter. We also do a lot of cooking on the grill and a lot less baking.

I'm so glad it's spring!!

OH, this post brought back a memory I will never forget.

My grandma used to cook lunch every Sunday (she is now 88, so she has stopped doing it). I can remember when I was in college and was coming home the following week I asked her if she could make her special chicken noodle dish. She then proceeded to let me know that it was spring and that was a winter dish. I laughed and ask her why it couldn't be made in the spring. She said that it just tasted better in the winter!!! Boy, do I miss her cooking. As much as I may try, my exact same dishes do not turn out like hers. She does nothing using recipes, it is all in her head.

Absolutely! During the winter most of our 'produce' eating is vegetables. During the summer we almost exclusively eat fruit.

We also do a lot more grilling and fewer carbs in the summer. While we could do popsicles all year long, I reserve that for just a summertime food. We make our own ice cream in the summer, too.

That's a cute story! I asked my grandma once to write down how she made homemade bread she laughed and said she would show me but couldn't write it down. She picked up the bag of flour and started pouring.... this much flour - I was like how much?? She just knew looking at it that it was right LOL My bread never tasted as good as hers. I miss her!
