1 (30oz)frozen hash brown potatoes
2 c Cheddar cheese
1 (16oz)sour cream
1 (10.75)cream of mushroom soup
1 onion, chopped
1 c butter
3 c crushed corn flakes

Preheat oven to 425
Pour the hash browns into a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Combine the cheese, sour cream and soup.

***********

to fancy this up also you can make with obrien potatoes

Combine the onion with 1 stick butter and saute for 5 minutes. Add this to the soup mixture and spread this over the potatoes in the dish.

Next, arrange the crushed corn flakes over all in the dish.

Melt the remaining stick of butter and pour this evenly over the corn flakes.

Bake at 425 for an hour

some options to for this recipe are:

make with obrien potatoes

you can also use cream of celery

and I also like to let cook a bit before I add the corn flakes(keeps it more of a golden brown than a dark brown)
