I just went through my fridge, freezer and cupboard and made note of all the food I DO have. Now...what to make with what I have? DH won't be getting paid for 9 days, hence my dilemma. I actually had more "stuff" than I thought I did, so that was good. Just not alot of meat, only canned chicken and tuna. So, now I'll have to really dig deep and muster up the "creative cook" in me!

I'll be checking out all the recipes on here to help me come up with ideas. So thanks to everyone that's posted Frugal Recipes on here!!

I make these with canned chicken and they are really good:

Canned Chicken (I use a lg can)
2-3 tblsp mayo
1 egg beaten
garlic salt
onion powder
curry powder
chopped green onion
seasoned bread crumbs (I sometimes use ritz crackers YUM!!)

Mix everything together in a bowl, add bread crumbs right before you cook or they will get soggy. Make into patties and fry on a lightly greased griddle until brown and crispy. I serve these with mac & cheese and a salad.

Quite a while ago, someone on Mommysavers posted a link to a site that I think would really help you out. You listed all of the ingredients you had on hand, then the site found recipes with those ingredients.

I'm sorry I can't remember what the site was. Does anyone else remember???

I have SOME basics...bread, milk, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, pasta, sauce, rice, soup, beans, some lunch meat, 2 can tuna, 2 cans chicken, a bit of cheese, corn tortillas, and enough wheat and white flour to make something. (?) I have all the ingrediants to make cookies or something else sweet (condensed milk, choc. chips, gram cracker crumbs, canned fruit, etc.) but that's not really my focus right now. I'm more worried about DDs nutrition, and she won't eat but about 7 of the things I just mentioned.

I don't have: any fresh or frozen meat (at least nothing that's not freezer burned already, except maybe a couple slices of bacon), eggs, syrup, or jelly...

And to top off this problem (as I just wrote in another post) DH just informed me that he came last night and SNUCK the aluminum cans out of my trunk to go buy GAS for his car! I was planning on taking them in myself today, when they opened, so I could go get SOMETHING for DD from the store! Looks like I have no other alternative but to go take some MORE stuff to the pawn shop! (Something I was really trying to avoid!!) I really need all this added stress!!

Pasta, cream of mushroom, a little milk, a can of tuna and a little cheese gives you tuna casserole. (Throw in some peas if you have them)

Peanut butter smeared on a tortilla is good for a lunch...maybe with some of the canned fruit.

I love souped up minute rice. It's a can of cream of mushroom, soup can of milk, and a soup can of rice and cook like normal rice. Makes a nice side (though I'm happy eating just that...)

pasta and sauce

sandwiches

allrecipes.com has an ingredient search feature that may help with some ideas, also!

Kraft Canada has a site where you can type in a few ingredients you have, choose which meal it is for and they will give you menu suggestions.

I am unaware of what all is going on with your situation...but call some local churches..tons of them will deliver food to anyone in desperate situations...or lots also have food banks where you can go pick out your own foods on certain days.

Just an idea.....I wish you luck.Hugs
