Does anyone have any food/meals your parents made for you and you love, but others may consider it a little weird? Do you make it for your kids and do they like it?

I don't know if anyone else has eaten Cream of Chicken Soup over toast, but we ate it growing up. I actually just made it for my girls today for the first time. My picky eater scarffed it down and my dd that's eats almost everything didn't touch hers much. And I thought it would have been the other way around. Oh by the way, you don't add water to the can of soup.

My mom also had a snack she gave us that she grew up eating. Applesauce mixed with Cool Whip with broken up graham crackers in it. My little dd loves applesause so she will eat it. With my older dd I tell her it's ice cream and she will eat a little bit.

My mom used to give us crushed saltines in milk. We also ate our oatmeal raw with sugar and milk, like cold cereal.

We ate fried bologna & mustard sandwiches too !

This one is really strange...Mom used to give us rolled up lettuce leafs, fresh from the garden, with sugar sprinkled inside...very healthy I'm sure . We also used to eat radish sandwiches...just bread, butter and sliced radishes.

When I visited my half sister in Richmond Va the popular snack was butter and sugar sandwhiches.

My ex MIL used to eat those large shredded wheat biscuits with water instead of milk. SHe said it's the only way she ever knew.

My dad used to mix up a bowl of maple syrup and peanut butter... and eat it with a soon:hurl:

I had butter and sugar bread at a friends house for snack.

My dad use to eat salt and pepper on his Corn Chex. Or he would break up a piece of bread and pour milk over it and add salt and pepper.

Can't say that I like this now but when I was a kid we ate popcorn (Popped on the stove in a crank top popper with lots of butter and salt) in milk. My dad still does this. I on the other hand do not!

Mustard eggs and fried asparagus are the only things that really come to mind.
