Does anyone buy these regularly? I have seen them in the freezer dept., but still I usually buy from the meat area and then repackage & freeze my own.

What brand do you usually buy? Do you have any trouble with taste, or them having freezer burn? I am very curious, because sometimes they run really good sales on them.

TIA

I used to buy them - I think it was Perdue Brand - in a bag. They were fine, not as big and meaty as the ones you buy in the fresh meat case but I never had trouble with freezer burn. I haven't bought any in a long time because I get frozen chicken from Angel Food.

I buy them all the time. I buy country pride or perdue. They come in a 3lb box. They are individually wrapped.

I buy them. I really don't pay attention too much to which brand they are. I've never had a problem either.

I buy them - quick and easy. The only complaints I have are that many are not just breasts; they usually have rib meat, too. Also, look at the additives. Lots of salt and other preservatives. So you just need to include that info in the numbers you feed your family. I've been using Mrs. Dash marinades lately to enhance the flavor, as they are often flavorless.

I have used them and like them, especially because they are smaller, sometimes the fresh ones you buy are huge! Like desertmom said they have a lot of salt & such, but I think it's just the solution they are frozen in, but I let them thaw, dump off the water that melts off them, then rinse them off, and they are fine. I've gotten a couple diff store brands and also Tyson from Sam's and they're all comparable.

Before I started getting Angel Food I always bought boneless skinless chicken breasts from the frozen section at Sam's. There was one kind I LOVED because they were already pounded fairly even for you... I think the were called Evencook or something.

I have got all sorts of frozen chicken breasts before; individually wrapped or loose, Tyson or store brand name. I have never had a problem with any of them. I think that they are very convient for cooking. The fresh ones always seem to come in pack of three and I always need four breasts to feed us. So it is just easier to grab 4 breasts out of the bag, seal it back up and start cooking. You can use them for any recipe that you would use raw chicken breasts for. I have noticed that if you bought one bag of frozen chicken breasts and tried to buy the same amount in the unfrozen breasts, it would cost a whole lot more.
