I was just wondering what everyone else does? If you grease, what do you use, butter? I usually use the muffin cups to save so much mess and butter. I just made muffins with the cups but I was disguisted because the cups were sticking to the muffin plus the bottom of the muffin pans were oozing with butter ! Why would that happen???

I always spray them with cooking spray. They don't stick, and I don't have to worry about losing half the muffin when it sticks to the liner. I pretty much do this with all my pans for baking now. There is even one with flour in it for recipes that want you to grease & flour your pan.

This is me too. Never have any sticking problems and it is so much easier and less mess!

My mom bought me silicone muffin cups that are reusable. At first I thought it would be weird to use, but they are great and the muffins just slide out. The only issue is that I only have 12, so it is useful for one batch.

I use the foil muffin cups if i have them but I never have them. For cupcakes or muffins, I just spray cooking spray and they pop right out. I do like the spray that has the oil and flour in it. That works good for all types of cakes.

depends...typically I can get away w/Pam...but if its for the kids or a holiday I have tons of fancy paper liners and stuff...also depends on the recipe...sometimes I grease and "flour"w/cinn/sugar mixes and such.

But on the average..Pam....its just easier and faster.....

also...you can spray paper and tin cups w/pam for easier release.

I got silicone bakeware about 3 months ago...NOTHING EVER STICKS!!! They are amazing! Before I got those, I would use a little cooking spray- but it is important to not use too much (especially on the sides!!) Other wise the muffins won't have anything to "hold on to" when the rise and you'll have short muffins! I would always get the spray for baking.
