the ends of the head are turning a purple color? Would you still use it or ditch it? It might look weird serving purple broccoli .

If the people were just my family and not company, I'd be serving them the fancy broccoli. If it's just on little spots here and there, maybe you could trim those parts off.

I would think it would be okay to eat. Maybe you could cut it smallish and hide it in with some other veggies (carrots & cauliflower)

I haven't seen purple either, just yellow. I did see purple cauliflower. interesting.....

Mine usually turns yellow, so I just cut that part off. If it's turning purple - is it flowering?
OK - it's fine. I just googled "broccoli turning purple". It's a different variety of broccoli - it's fine.
