Default Bisquick substitute?

Does anyone know a Bisquick substitute that can be made from scratch? I am trying to avoid prepackaged things.

well then...here ya be...............

4 ½ c sifted flour
2 Tbs sugar
1 Tbsp + 1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 c shortening
½ tsp salt
2/3 c powdered milk

Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Sift 3 times into a bowl.

Cut in shortening til it looks like cornmeal.

Hillbillyhousewife.com has two recipes, one is lower fat than the other. I haven't tried them yet, but everything else from her site has been very good.
