My kids adore broccoli cheese soup, especialy the one from Panera Bread Co. I'm looking for a recipe that calls for cheddar that's tried and true. The last one I did was not that flavorful, my oldest said "you need to make it like at Panera, not yucky!" So, ladies I need help. Thanks!

1 cup water
1 chicken boullion cube
1 10 oz package frozen chopped broccoli
1 med carrot, grated
1 -3 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoons Flour
2 cups milk
1 lb American cheese cubed
1 can cream of chicken coup
1 tablespoon onion flakes
1 tablespoon worchestershire
pepper to taste

Heat water & boullion cube to boiling. Add broccoli & Carrot. Cook 5 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat, do not drain. In seperate saucepan, melt butter, slowly stir in flour, gradually add milk, cook until thickened. Stir in cheese, soup, onion, whochestershire & pepper. Add Broccoli & Carrots mixture. Heat & Serve.

I too could not find a good recipe for this soup. This recipe came from my best friends mom and it is so good.
I've never attempted soup before but I think I'll make this one.

My sil makes an excellent soup that is easy. I just tried to call her but there was no answer so I left her a message. I will post it when I can. I know it has carrots and potatoes and velveeta. Her recipe is what they make and the school she worked at.

ohhh, I'm so excited. My kids love broccoli cheese soup from Ground Round which is now closed in MN. I have tried several different recipes to no avail. I have also tried cheese soup from campbells, yuk. I will have to take kids to panera to try theirs. we don't have one close by but next time we are by one we will try it.

never thought about the velveta cheese.

please report any tried recipes and how they went over.

TIA
