Thanks!

I would start by looking in the frozen food recipe section.......the idea of weekly/monthly cooking is to utilize pre made freezer foods.

Theirs a ton of recipes...from breakfast to dinner to dessert ideas in there....but I am sure some of the girls who do this alot will be along soon.

I try to double recipes so I can have things in the freezer when time is tight. Something that I know some of the members on here do and I need to get better at doing is making weekling/biweekly/monthly menus. I think alot of problem is just not know what to fix for dinner. I love to read what other people are fixing - it gives me ideas.

I've been doing this for several years and it works for myself and my son. I'm a single parent and by the time I get home from work, there isn't much time to cook due to school activities, home work, etc....

I usually take one weekend to make my chicken recipies and other to make my beef recipies. It doesn't take to long - it is easier when my son is gone. I put the finished meals in plastic containersand label them. If Im having pasta - I'll make the pasta in the morning or the night before and pull out a container of sauce.

Some of the things I make are:

Tacos - beef and chicken
Chili - beef and chicken
Red sauce for pasta
Sloppy Joes
Chicken soup with lots of veggies

This year I'm going to try some new recipies. . On weekends I'll put something in a crockpot or grill and freeze the left overs. I only make enough to fill my freezer and leave some space for other things - due to I don't have a stand alone freezer. Good luck - in the beginning its hard the more you do it the easier it gets.

There is a book called "Once a Month Cooking" that I got from the library a few months ago. It is a good idea, just wasn't sure I could do that much cooking at once, plus I don't have that much freezer space. You could check it out and maybe just do a week or two at a time.
