Crock Pot Chicken Dinner

1 whole frying chicken, rinsed,guts removed
8 large carrots, peeled and cut into 2 in pieces
6 potatoes, peeled
1 pkg dry onion soup
1 1/2 tsp basil
1 c chicken broth
Put chicken, carrots and potatoes in slow cooker.
Mix rest of ingr and pour over chicken.
Cover and cook on high about 5 hours or on low for about 9 hours,til chicken leg and thigh come off easily when pulled. :happy dance:
