What kind of ketchup do you buy? Do you stick with one brand or buy what's on sale?

We are normally a Heinz family, but I am considering changing to store brand to save a few pennys. I am worried that they will taste different.

Heinz, heinz and only heinz! MIL would buy anything but and let me tell you -- its all bad. Generic, other name brands, whatever... just plain yuck. Im very picky about my ketchup!

I just buy whatever is cheapest and I don't really notice a difference. I am not a big ketchup person though. I did know a family that would only eat heinz though.

HEINZ only! No matter the price, I have to buy heinz, I don't think the others taste as good.

Being as my DH works for a food distributor, (and brings home freebies from sales meetings.. ) We aren't picky..lol.

Heinz is the best IMO, but I honestly don't think there is that big of a difference between them all. I remember when Heinz came out with the Green ketchup and we did a blindfold test....and you really couldn't tell the difference....but when you actually looked at the colors...your mind played tricks on you....

HTH ~ Good luck, and I say try the store brand, you might be suprised!

i love ketchup and can't tell the difference b/w store and name brand. Although, we shouldn't have to buy any for awhile. A friend of ours works at Heinz and gave us quite a few bottles so that should last for at least 6 mos. Free ketchup always tastes better!

I go with what acceptable brand is on sale. Heinz is the best, but I will buy Hunts and Delmonte too. I have tried store brands and they are disgusting. I can buy certain generic foods, I don't care about brand name for most items. But ketchup has to be one of those brands. If none is on sale and I really need it, I think Hunts is usually the cheapest of the 3.
It is those or nothing.
