Hey all... I'm Looking for tried & true recipe for cheese sauce (mainly cheddar)... I'm so tired of buying overly salty canned stuff, and trying recipes that end up sucking or finding only recipes that call for Velveeta (blech!). Does anyone have anything they can share?

I don't have a true homemade version, but I don't buy the one in the jars either. I use 1 can of the Cambells cheese soup (I think it's condensed), combine that with a cup or so of shredded cheddar and heat until the shredded is melted. It's good and easy.

I make a homemade cheese sauce my cooking flour in butter then add milk and cheddar cheese.

Just like you would for scalloped potatoes and ham.
