I'm looking for some different meal ideas -- healthy & frugal!
I always print out a blank table and plan out my dinner meals for the month. I typically have been going like this each week:
Pasta, chicken, 2 leftover nights, homemade pizza, pork or steak and then a breakfast for dinner.
Anyone have any real good ideas that are cheap, easy and healthy? I'm starting to get bored with the same ol'.

Thanks!

Debi

We do a similar type meal plan with leftovers, pizza and a breakfast for dinner as well.
I notice you don't have any fish in your mix. How about tuna sandwiches and soup, or a broiled Tilapia or shrimp stir fry dinner?
chicken quesadillas
breakfast burritos
pizza omelletts (top with pizza toppings)
some sort of sandwhich night (grilled cheese, BLT's, egg salad, pesto and deli turkey with bacon)

Baked potato bar (cheese, bacon, bocill., sour cream, butter, chilli, etc.)

soup & sandwich

Taco night

red beans and rice, with a veg.

mac & cheese with hot dogs cut up in it(put them in the when you boil the water)

make a pizza night homemade

The kids and I did a TV dinner night once a month, we would go to the store and they would pick out any TV dinner and we would have a night that we watched tv and ate our TV dinners. (cheaper then going out to eat & the kids loved it)

Have you checked out the frugal recipe thread?? There are a lot of recipes there. What about soup and sandwiches one night?? Make a batch of homemade soup and than freeze the leftovers.
What type of recipes are you doing now with pasta, chicken, pork and steak??

We do "international night" three times a month or so- this includes

mexican food,
chinese food (real chinese food, not the fake stuff that's americanized),
German food (bangers and mash is a HUGE favorite here...and they're affordable)
B&M you take sausages/brats or something of the like and serve them
over mashed potatoes and shredded cabbage with gravy on top
Italian night (we do frequently)
French foods

Once a month we have a "make your own pizza night" which is not only just to eat, but it's fun and the entire family joins in

I make Italian pork chops- put chops into a ziplock baggie and pour in Italian dressing, marinade over night and serve with what ever- we like to serve with home made apple sauce (very affordable to make this time of year)

I make roasts a lot in the fall and winter. I also do a ham or turkey on weekends and make different "freezer meals" with it for later in the week or month. Turkey is affordable, because you get so much meat it lasts for many meals. A lot of people look at turkey and ham and roasts for "special holidays" but my family makes them often in fall and winter months.

my kids and my dh love salmon patties. you just get canned salmon and mix it up with some cornmeal and salt and pepper and fry them. I usually make mac and cheese and corn to go with it and call the salmon patties "Krabby patties" like off of spongebob. Last week my dd ate 7.
